Celebrate the season of giving with Happy Meal Buy 1 Share 1

Double the happiness with a feel-good holiday treat for two through the McDonald’s Happy Meal Buy 1 Share 1 program! With every Happy Meal purchased from November 27 to December 17, McDonald’s matches this with a gift to another child from partner beneficiaries in areas affected by the recent typhoons Rolly and Ulysses.

Every Happy Meal purchase that goes for as low as Php90 can make not just one, but two children happier as McDonald’s matches each purchase by gifting a toy or a book to kids from partner beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries of the Happy Meal Buy 1 Share 1 program includes children from areas affected by typhoons Rolly and Ulysses such as those in Albay, Quezon, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Pampanga, and Sorsogon, as well as all Bahay Bulilit communities and other select LGUs.

A small amount can go a long way in making someone’s holiday a little bit brighter. For more details about McDonald’s Happy Meal Buy 1 Share 1 Program, follow us on Facebook (facebook.com/McDo.ph), Twitter (twitter.com/McDo_PH), and Instagram (instagram.com/mcdo_ph).

CREATIVE CHRISTMAS TREE CENTERPIECES BRING JOY TO SM SHOPPERS

It is said that Filipinos began decorating their homes with Christmas trees in the early 1900s, as influenced by our American colonizers.  Earlier, however, Dr. Jose Rizal, our National Hero, introduced and brought the idea about the Christmas tree in his letter to his eldest sister when he was in Berlin in November 1886. He simply described how Christmas is celebrated in Germany and Spain, and how a forest pine tree decorated with glitter, lights, candies and fruit is placed inside the house where everyone celebrates Christmas around it.

Since that time, the Christmas tree has found its place in many Filipino homes. Beyond the display and the ornaments, it has conveyed a message of love, unity, and joy in every member of the family.

SM Aura Premiere

The iconic Christmas tree has also found its way as a creative centerpiece in SM’s malls with artistic renditions in modern and traditional themes.  Some like the Christmas in Bloom at SM Aura Premier, and the Southacular Carnival Christmas at SM Southmall, highlight blooms and fair images, respectively, instead of ornaments.

SM City Clark's Parul Kapampangan

Others highlight the work of artisans in the regions – the lantern makers of Pampanga in SM City Clark’s Parul Kapampangan and indigenous fabrics from local communities – hablon, jusi, piña, abaca, and rattan – at SM City Iloilo.

More than just beautiful centerpieces, these have become symbols of hope, love, and joy during these most challenging times. These have become focal points where we can reconnect with our traditional celebrations, and join the Filipino community in hoping for safer, brighter, and merrier times.

SM City San Mateo extends help to Typhoon Ulysses victims in San Mateo and Rodriguez, Rizal

November 11-12 may have been the most difficult days of residents in the towns of San Mateo and Rodriguez in Rizal this 2020 as Typhoon Ulysses left a massive destruction in their communities amid an ongoing pandemic. Violent winds, torrential rain and raging flood inundated houses, businesses and even took helpless lives. Residents fled to safer grounds even while the typhoon is ravaging the area.

True to its mission, the SM Operation Tulong Express is mobilized to bring aid to affected residents as quickly as possible.  Together with Rizal Vice Governor Jun Rey San Juan, the SM City San Mateo team headed by Regional Operations Manager Engr. Dennis Martel and Assistant Mall Manager Sean Arroyo distributed more than 3,000 SM Kalinga packs to displaced residents in both towns.

The team turned over 2,000 SM Kalinga packs to the local government of San Mateo for efficient distribution to their constituents. Also, over 1,000 packs were distributed to evacuated families in Bgy. Rosario in Rodriguez, Rizal. In addition to this, Goldilocks through SM Foundation fills up evacuees with delicious hot meals in Bgy. Banaba in San Mateo.

Operation Tulong Express is a program of SM Foundation together with SM Supermalls and SM Markets as an immediate response to extend assistance to communities during calamities.

Brother Philippines supports virtual Relay For Life 2020

Despite a global pandemic that has put many events and occasions on hold, Brother International Philippines Corporation (BICP) and Brother Industries Philippines, Inc. pushed through in its annual support for this year’s Relay For Life, a global movement to support and raise funds for cancer patients around the world by walking or running around a track.

Due to the pandemic, this year’s Relay For Life was held virtually on the Philippine Cancer Society’s Facebook page last August 22.

Meanwhile, a donation ceremony was also held via video conferencing last September 25, which was attended by BICP President Glenn Hocson, Product Management Group Manager Shinichi Tanaka, associates Elben Arcilla, Kyle Tabalan, Kristine Soriano, Jana Macabia, and Brother Industries Philippines, Inc. (BIPH) employees.

"Even though we may be affected by the challenges we’re all going through right now, we at Brother Philippines are happy to continue to find ways to support our worthwhile causes such as Relay For Life,” said Hocson.

BICP’s support for Relay For Life, which is going on its ninth year, is part of the Brother Group’s Golden Ring Project, which promotes and supports initiatives and charity events to support the fight against cancer. It does this by conducting social contribution activities with its employees to build a sense of unity among Brother facilities around the world.

For more updates and information on Brother activities and events, customers may visit our Facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/BROTHERatyourside/. #CheckThisOut CAFTANS BY SM WOMAN

If you want a break from the tees, jeans, and athleisure attire that have emerged as the OOTDs of this day, slip into the effortless ease of SM Woman’s stylish caftans.

A traditional garment of the Middle East, caftans – which were made of luxurious silks and embellished with ornate beading - were worn by Ottoman sultans and Moroccan dignitaries of centuries past. The caftan was later introduced to Western society and adapted in the 1950s and 60s by leading couturiers such as Cristobal Balenciaga and Christian Dior as a new form of evening gown.

Since then, it has become a favorite among fashion icons like Andre Leon Talley, the Olsens, and Rihanna, as well as editors, designers, and the glamorous set. And with more of us spending more time at home, Tory Burch, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Pucci, as well as Lilly Pulitzer have included the caftan in their latest collections.

That’s because the caftan has a free-spirited ethos that feels equal parts luxurious and liberating, and its billowy, loose silhouette makes it so alluring.

The SM Woman caftan collection can work itself into an everyday wardrobe with ease. These mid-calf length caftans are, says Anthony Nocom, “made from quality charmeuse satin in floral prints that are cut with precision and good fit for women who want to feel good about themselves.”Nocom, who has worked on menswear for SM for many years, has since transitioned into designing caftans, as well as lounge dresses and sleepwear for the store. The best part is their price, which range from P599.00 to P699.00.

Perfect for lounging around the house, working from home, running errands, and meeting friends, the SM Woman Caftan and Lounge dress collection is available at selected SM Stores in Metro Manila and provincial cities.
