SAVING IS A HABIT

This year, RCBC and RCBC Savings Bank’s Deposit and Drive promo will give away 8 more brand new cars to lucky corporate and personal account holders. This promo encourages accountholders to deposit on their RCBC and RSB accounts for a chance to win a brand new Honda Civic sedan or an Isuzu mu-X SUV. New and existing accountholders can still join until May 31, 2019.

“Maging masinop ka lang pagdating sa pera, kahit gaano man kalaki or kaliit ang sahod mo, kapag may goal ka makakapagipon ka,” said Antesa Paraon, one of the four lucky winners of a Honda Civic Sedan under RCBC and RCBC Savings Bank’s (RSB) Deposit and Drive promo” said Antesa Paraon, winner of a Honda Civic Sedan under RCBC and RCBC Savings Bank’s (RSB) Deposit and Drive promo.

Paraon has been an RCBC depositor for five years under payroll and is an advocate of saving for the future. She said whenever her pay gets credited, she withdraws enough to sustain her for the week and rest is left in her savings account. She also deposits to her bank account every time she gets her share from the company’s “employee fund”. An employee fund is pooling system that she and fellow workers have put together to help each other save some of their hard-earned money.

“Gusto ko po mabigyan ng magandang buhay yung pamilya ko. Itong kotse po, makakatulong po ito sa hanapbuhay namin,” she said.

Born and raised in Surigao City, Paraon had a tough life growing up. She went to Manila when she was 20 years old to look for jobs. It was not until 2013 when she found a company that gave her tenure and regularized her employment.

Paraon was a machine operator in one of the facilities in Laguna Technopark for three years and was promoted to technician two years ago.

According to Paraon, this was when she started saving funds for herself, her future, and her family.

“Nag-iipon po ako kasi naniniwala ako na dun ako pwede magsimula na maghanda para sa kinabukasan ko at ng pamilya ko,” Paraon added.

BDO EMBARKS ON NEXT PHASE OF UPGRADE

FOLLOWING last month’s successful implementation of key improvements involving its electronic banking services, BDO Unibank will launch the next phase of its system upgrade this coming Holy Week.

As a result, the following services will be temporarily inaccessible to clients starting 8PM on April 19 (Good Friday) to 12nn on April 20 (Black Saturday):

·      ATMs
·      Mobile and Online Banking
·      Debit and Cash Card transactions

Branches, meanwhile, will be closed from April 18 (Maundy Thursday) to April 21 (Easter Sunday) in observance of the Holy Week. Regular operations will resume Monday, April 22.

“We are advising our clients and the general public to perform their banking transactions ahead of this scheduled activity to avoid any inconvenience,” BDO said in an advisory.
