45 of 300 Squads Advances in The Rules of Survival - NIMO TV- Philippine Champions League Qualifiers

With the overwhelming number of squads who joined and tried to outwit one another, 45 Teams will advance to the Playoffs of the biggest Rules of Survival Tournament in the country hosted by NIMO TV.


The 2-Day qualifiers happened in 3 venues around the metro, with over 300 squads from different caliber showed up to prove their worth and secure a slot in the playoffs.

“The qualifier brought out the best among the best this is just a preview of what will happen in the coming playoffs and finals“ Henry Zhao, NIMO TV Overseas Executive.  “We want to discover squads who have the grit to compete on a professional level, “ Zhao added.

The 15 qualified squads of each venue will compete in the playoffs this December 1 & 2, 2018. The top 4 squads per branch will move to the finals together with the top 2 squads of the whole tournament. The crowd favorite will also earn a slot and will complete the 15 squads who will compete in the finals.

Winners of the Rules of Survival - NIMO TV- Philippine Champions League can bring home Php 100,000 for the 1st Prize, Php 80,000 for 2nd Prize and Php 50,000 for 3rd Prize. Aside from the Cash Prizes and in-games items, the Top 5 teams will also represent the country in the Rules of Survival Southeast Asia tournament to battle and claim supremacy.

Coca-Cola returns to Bacolod with music and a vision of a World Without Waste

This years Masskara Festival in Negros Occidental celebrated more color and more music as Coke Studio brought together the Negrenses and the artists of this years Coke Studio in one special stage, hyping up the volume and heat along Lacson Street.


The Coke Studio stage was headlined by singer and heartthrob Sam Concepcion, and local bands Cali Island and Aire Band. But more than the music festival, Coca-Cola Philippines also brought to the city of smiles its World Without Waste campaign which seeks to collect every bottle and can that it will produce by 2030, while also including recycled materials into its packaging.

Specially designed trash bins were distributed around key festival areas to help the public segregate recyclables from other wastes, and in the process, help partners Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation, Inc., Masskara Foundation, IPM-Construction and Development Corporation Waste Management, and the Department of Public Service Local Waste Management in keeping the streets clean and litter-free despite the large volume of people. Throughout the five days of festivities, almost 80 kilograms of PET bottles were collected for recycling.


There is so much to be done in order to effectively reduce the waste that we produce, and every small action makes a difference. By helping the public in segregating recyclables from trash, we are slowly making them see that recyclables like PET bottles are readily accessible resources that can and should be given second life and not just end up in our landfills and oceans after one use, said Jonah de Lumen-Pernia, Coca-Cola Philippines Director for Public Affairs and Communications.

The main streets of Bacolod City were painted with the ubiquitous red banners bearing the iconic Spencerian script font that spells out the well-loved beverage. The heart of Lacson Street was cordoned off Friday afternoon as the huge Coke Studio stage took shape for the nights festivities.

The Masskara Festival is an important occasion for us at Coca-Cola Philippines as it is an opportunity to strengthen our partnerships with various stakeholders in Negros as well as give back to our consumers by joining the festivities, de Lumen-Pernia said.

The beverage brand, through its social responsibility arm, Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, inked several partnerships with government and non-government organizations to help improve the sugar production of small sugar farmers. The partnerships include providing irrigation, high-yielding variety, and technical training for the farmer beneficiaries.

Miss Earth candidates take one last eco-tour at Playa Calatagan


Lovely candidates of Miss Earth 2018 took one last tour of the Philippines and visited Playa Calatagan, a quintessential beach development of Landco Pacific Corporation located in Calatagan, Batangas, to immerse themselves with the Southern charm, the white beach shoreline, and the convenience of modern amenities that is harmonious with Nature.

The ladies were first taken to a tour of the site where they planted tree seedlings as a part of their commitment towards preserving Mother Nature. HYPE, newest all Filipino transport network companies is finally arrived!

TAXI OPERATORS SIGN POSITIVE RIDER EXPERIENCE MANIFESTO



Taxi cabs in the Philippines have been the brunt of complaints and issues for the past so many years. These range from driver decorum, passenger safety, all the way to how the vehicles perform.


As part of the ongoing campaign of HYPE Transport Systems, Inc.to upgrade the overall rider experience, especially to taxi cabs using the HYPE app, they have called on and approached the various taxi operators to come together and to commit via a signing of a manifesto to improve overall taxi passenger experience; supported by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

“In as much as we in HYPE recognize the importance of further enhancing and developing the key transportation service given by our gallant taxi operators and taxi drivers In easing the woes of our passengers, we also recognize that there is a need to provide proactive solutions to the various issues raised by the riding public,” said Mr. Nicanor Escalante, President of HYPE Transport Systems, Inc.

Escalante further said, “We took the liberty of meeting with the biggest taxi operator associations like PNTOA and ATOMM, and have encouraged them to sign a commitment, a manifesto that focuses on the three biggest issues of concern; and have committed to partner with them in providing solutions; and we are happy that the LTFRB has supported us in this endeavor.”

The issues that were pinpointed were: driver decorum, passenger safety, and vehicle quality. All three were the identified critical factors to achieve an overall positive rider experience.

For driver decorum, HYPE has committed to open its center in Shaw Boulevard as a venue for further driver re-training with the full concurrence of the taxi operators. For passenger safety, aside from the landmark SOS button found in the HYPE app that calls for help in cases of passenger (and driver) distress, the taxi operators committed to be stricter in the screening of its drivers and to closely work with authorities. And lastly, for vehicle quality, the taxi operators have committed to put emphasis on vehicle maintenance and cleanliness, and these vehicles will be routinely checked by HYPE representatives. All the vehicles and drivers who have passed the standards will be affixed with a HYPE sticker.

1. Chie Filomeno never lets a minute of her time go to waste!
  
Chie’s day usually starts pretty early. She wakes up at 6:00 AM to get ready for work and prepare for Showtime to meet her 8:00 AM call time. There was even a time when my mom thought I was a tomboy when I was younger because I was very boyish and I didn't have that much female friends. Given that, I learned driving secretly when I was 13 years old (sorry mum and dad)! Right then and there I knew that I was made to race. When I realized that, I tried out for Vios Cup and luckily, they wanted me in the team! WOOHOO! Dreams really do come true!”

4. Her advice: “Step out of your comfort zone!”

Growing up, Chie always loved to challenge herself. She always had this urge to continuously improve, and do things that are out of her comfort zone. This applies for surfing, cooking, and many more.

Being confident enough to face what the world has to offer is just one of the things that Chie wants to influence her followers to do. She also added that the best way to feel confident is to know that you have the best partner with you. “Here’s a little secret: I get a boost of confidence whenever my hair looks good. Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day is Back!!!


Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, kicks off its biggest annual regional shopping event, Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day. After last year’s successful 9.9 event which saw a three-fold uplift in orders and a five-time increase in traffic, Shopee is upping the ante this year with a 11-day mega shopping event from 30 August to 9 September. With over 500,000 sellers, around 800 brands and more than 60 partners onboard, users can expect up to 99% off from the largest collection of deals and massive giveaways worth over ₱15 Million.




Started last 30 August, users can participate in a 11-day shopping marathon, featuring different back-to-back themed days every 24 hours in the lead up to the peak of Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day on 9 September. Users can also look forward to free shipping with lowered minimum spend every day during this period. This year’s Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day is co-presented by more than 60 partners, including Grab, Cebu Pacific, BPI, SM Advantage, ABS-CBN Publishing, and ABS-CBN Store. Joining Shopee in its biggest sale of the year, Grab will be giving 9,000 worth of Grab rides each to 99 Shopee users; while Cebu Pacific will be giving round trip tickets to Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Kota Kinabalu, Bali and Siem Reap.
